Juegos-Trabajo-Empleo | An Important Role In The Prevention Of Breast Cancer - Breast Cancer Nutrition

Empleo Nutrition and physical activity can play a significant role in the prevention of breast cancer. Eating a diet that is rich in plant based foods, selecting healthier fats, and eliminating alcohol from the diet can be significant preventative steps to take. Making sure that you are at a healthy body weight and engaging in regular physical activity plays an important role as well.

Utilizing nutrition to protect breast health is a two-pronged approach after that. First, avoid eating foods identified to increase the risk of cancer. Second, concentrate on eating foods that are proven to support over-all good health and to give protection from cancer-causing agents.

Juegos Signs & Symptoms

The first subjective sign or first symptom of breast cancer is a lump that feels different from the rest of the breast tissue. As per the Merck Manual, more than almost 80 percent of cancer cases are detected by a women when she feels a lump through a breast self examination. The American Cancer Society states that the first medical sign of breast cancer is detected by the physician when he discovers it through a mammogram. Another indication of this cancer is the detection of lumps in the lymph nodes located in the armpits, as the first area it starts spreading to is the lymph nodes there.

There are other signs or symptoms as well, like:

• Change in the size of the breast,
• Change of the shape,
• The skin of the breast starts dimpling,
• There is nipple inversion,
• Spontaneous single nipple discharge,
• Pain in the breast (mastodynia) is not a reliable symptom, but can also be indicative of other breast problems.

When the cancer cells spread to the dermal lymphatics, that is, the small lymph vessels present in the skin of the breast, it can resemble skin inflammation and thus is known as Inflammatory Breast Cancer (IBC). The symptoms of this kind include pain, warmth, swelling, redness throughout the breast and an orange peel texture to the skin, which is referred to as peau d’orange.

Trabajar Types Of Male Breast Cancer

Ducal Carcinoma in Situ or DCIS this afflicts one in ten cases this type of cancer in men. The cancer cells fill the ducts, but it doesn’t invade through the walls of the duct into the fatty tissue of the breast or spread outside the breast. This type has a good curable rate with surgery.

Infiltrating or Invasive Ducal Carcinoma invades the fatty tissue of the breast through the wall of duct. Then spreads to other parts of the body. Invasive Ducal Carcinoma alone or mixed with Invasive or Situ breast cancer, afflicts 80% to 90% of male breast cancer victims.

Invasive Lobular Carcinoma or Lobular breast cancer is rare in men only afflicting about two percent. This is rare because men do not have a lobular tissue gland that produces milk in the woman’s breast.

Paget Disease of the Nipple. This type starts in the breast ducts and spreads to the skin of the nipple. It made also spread to the dark area of the nipple known as the areola. The skin of the nipple usually looks crusted, scaly, and red, with areas of itching, oozing, burning, or bleeding. With the finger tips a lump may be found in the breast.

Paget disease mix with other types of breast cancer accounts for about one percent in women and a higher percentage in men. Since the man’s breast is smaller than a woman’s breast, this type of cancer in men starts closer to the nipple so spreading to the nipple is more likely. If no lump is found the biopsy shows Ducal Carcinoma but no Invasive Cancer the survival rate is very good.

Metastatic Breast Cancer

Sometimes the cancer presents itself as metastatic disease, which means the cancer that has spread from its original organ, the breast. The symptoms of this type depend upon the location of the metastasis. Common sites where metastasis occurs is the bone, lung, liver and the brain. Unexplained weight loss can be a sign of an occurrence of cancer, as can fever and chills. Pain in the joints can be manifestations of this cancer. Jaundice and neurological symptoms, too, could point towards this. These symptoms are non-specific; that means they could be the symptoms of any other illness.

Treatment For Male Breast Cancer

Here again the smaller number of men with this type of cancer handicaps the medical profession. The lower number of men forces doctors to depend on research in women for the type of treatment to use for men.

Conclusion

After researching and writing this article I feel strongly that its time for men to become more proactive in this area by pushing for better education, research, prevention, and yearly breast screening for men after forty just like the women you can be published without charge. Unavoidable risk factors include;

- Gender: Women are more susceptible to contracting breast cancer than men.

- Age: The older a person gets, the greater the risk factor.

- Family history: If a family member has previously contracted the disease, the chances of another family member contracting it rises considerably.

Trabajar

- Genetic predisposition: If the body carries a gene associated with the disease, the odds can increase greatly. This gene can be passed down through generations. If a parent is known to carry a genetic predisposition, it is also possible for their children to carry the gene as well.

- Race: White women are much more susceptible to contracting breast cancer than black or Hispanic women.

- Prolonged exposure to estrogen: Those who enter the menopause at a more advanced age than normal (55+) are believed to have a higher risk factor. Estrogen is believed to play a part in causing breast cancer to form.

Factors which can be controlled include;

- Weight: As in most cancers, those who are overweight place themselves at a higher risk of cancer. Anyone overweight would be advised to begin an exercise program and improve their diet as soon as possible. Especially if coupled with age factors. Always be sure to consult with a doctor before beginning a rigorous exercise program.

STEPS THAT CAN BE TAKEN TO PREVENT CANCER FROM RETURNING.

Diet… Fiber intake—Boosting fiber consumption to between 20 and 30 grams daily– double the amount of most people– may lower the amount of estrogen circulating the bloodstream. Eat more beans, lentils, fresh fruit, veggies and whole grain (AMA).

Reinforced Bodily Defense… The most powerful protector and fighter against cancer is Glutathione (GSH). Hundreds of medical articles have been written describing the role of GSH in cancer prevention and cancer treatment. They fall into the three main groups:

Prevention- includes detoxification of carcinogens, anti oxidation and heightened immune response.
Therapeutic possibilities- anti-tumor methodologies and the treatment and prevention of wasting.
Special role for GSH- in chemo therapy and radiation therapy whereby it minimizing it’s side -effects.

There are many symptoms, which may point to breast cancer. Finding a lump or hardening of the breast, or areas near the breast, is the most common symptom. Other symptoms can include a change in breast size, discharge from the nipple itself, tenderness and even a change in how the breast feels. Breast Cancer Symptoms

Health-conscious women all over the world are naturally going to be surprised to know that one out of 10 women suffers from breast cancer in the US. Well, you think, you did not know that it was so common. Unfortunately, it is true. Fortunately, it can be cured, if caught in the early stages, like other cancers.

Trabajar

Although the etiology of some 95% of breast cancer cases is still not known, that relating to the remaining 5% of new cases has been identified as being associated with aspects of hereditary. Of particular note, are those individuals who are known to be carriers of the susceptibility genes, BRCA1 and BRCA2. In such cases, there is an additional risk of some 30-40% in respect of breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Which of these manifests itself is dependent upon the particular part of the protein in which the mutation occurs.

High Fat Diets:

Studies have also been shown by the NIH (The National Institute of Health) that women who consume at least 40% of their nutrition from high fat foods, added a 15% chance of developing breast cancer than those who only consumed about 20% of foods which contained a high concentration of fats.

Putting this death rate into perspective, it represents only 7% of all deaths due to cancer and a mere 1% of deaths attributable to all causes. However, it must be noted that the number of cases of breast cancer identified worldwide has shown a marked increase since the 1970’s. A number of reasons for this have been put forward, but the most likely candidate is the change in lifestyle experienced in Western societies.

So, naturally, you are on the lookout for all the possible breast cancer symptoms, which might forecast the prospective onset of this dread disease. These symptoms include an unexplained lump, which may be hard or tender, in the breast. You may possibly also find this lump underneath your armpit. You also need to look for other cancer symptoms like the skin getting red and itchy. You may find one breast swelling abnormally. That is because the cancerous cells in the body are absorbing all the blood supplied to the breast region.

In this respect, a US study in 2005 by the SWHR identified the widespread belief that breast cancer was by far the most feared disease amongst women notwithstanding the fact that the rate of mortality in women from heart disease is so much greater. It is noteworthy that evidence from doctors has suggested that many women greatly exaggerate their vulnerability to contracting this particular cancer. you can be Published without charge. Ya-Online-Juegos.com | Breast Cancer - The Second Most Common Cancer

Question: What is the #2 type of cancer that successfully kills women in the United States?

Answer: Breast Cancer.

Second only to the mortality rate of lung cancer in women, breast cancer can affect any woman. After skin cancer, it is the most commonly diagnosed type of cancer affecting women. It is not yet know why some women get it while others do not, but there are known risk factors to cause breast cancer. While much rarer, men can get it as well. Specifically, the American Cancer Society predicts that approximately 178,000 women and 2000 men in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer, every year.

After finding the lump and visiting with a surgeon, even though the lump would not aspirate, the breast surgeon had it in her mind, that since I did not fit a statistic, I was to young to get breast cancer, so I should forget about it and go home - if it bothered me to come back in six months, but not to worry. “You’re too young”. I did wait six months and the lump doubled. After pushing for a biopsy, she did one and then called to tell me that it was cancer after all. The lump was Stage II - what if I had waited six more months?

The sad truth about this story is that it is not unique. As I lay in my bed, bald, sick from chemo and wondering where life would lead me, I learned that approximately 11,000 American women younger than 40 are diagnosed with breast cancer annually. Of those approximately 1,100 die because they were told “You’re too young” or “Come back in six months”. I also learned that younger women have more aggressive breast cancers and higher mortality rates.

Over the past three years, I have had an opportunity to meet and come to love many of these young women - some still living and some who have lost their lives needlessly to a preventable death from a disease that they did not know could take their lives.

WHAT IS IT, EXACTLY?

Cancer is a malignant growth (tumor) that is exacerbated by uncontrolled, abnormal cell growth that can spread to other parts of the body through the lymphatic system. The abnormal growth is called the tumor; the cells that travel are called metastases. In other words, cells in a specific part of the body begin to grow out of control. Breast cancer forms in the breast tissue, forming a lump or a mass of extra tissue. Even though skin cancer is more commonly diagnosed in women than breast cancer, breast cancer is more universally feared by women than any other cancer known to man.

While there are many types of breast cancer, and a patient can be diagnosed with more than one type, it is divided into two main categories: invasive, or non-invasive. As the name would imply, non-invasive are usually easier to cure. One’s odds of beating cancer are increased significantly if discovered early in all cases.

The following two types of cancer are the most common of both categories:

  • DCIS, which stands for ductal carcinoma in situ, is a non-invasive type. It is located in the ducts of the breast and remains there without invading the tissue. It is easily detected via mammograms.
  • IDC, or invasive ductal carcinoma, is the most common type of invasive breast cancer. It begins in a milk passage/duct, and breaks through the wall of the duct to invade breast tissue. From the tissue, this cancer can metastasize to other parts of the body, often spreading rapidly.

Today, I am a three-year survivor of breast cancer, and I am alive because of early detection. As I write this, I can reach over and touch my daughter’s face - because I am still here; because I found my lump in time. In the fall, I took my daughter to school, as she started first grade, and watched her go in and find her way. And I was there waiting for her after school- because I am still be here, because of early detection. I wonder, how many other young women lost the opportunity to watch their children bloom and grow - learn to talk, walk, read, ride bikes, tie their shoes, go to their first day of school and will never see their children grow up to be men and women - because of lack of awareness.

It is easy to play the numbers game when it is not personal, or when those opposing it are fighting in some way to maintain the status quo, some sort of power or control over the “way things are”. However, times are changing; and as for those of us who are on either side of the statistic pool, it is an easy decision - we are here because of early detection or a life was lost because of a lack of it. The EARLY Act is necessary - it is not an option. Young women’s lives and futures depend on it you can be published without charge. You can to republish this article in your website or blog. Major breakthrough in the understanding of cancer

Hunting for Genetic Mutations and Cancer. The current paradigm in medical research holds that the cause of most cancers is a genetic mutation. For instance, according to the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI), an institute at the NIH, “all cancers are based on genetic mutations in body cells.”  In fact, mutation hunting is big business. Just look at the NIH budget allocated to discoveries of genetic mutations, the number of biotech companies chasing genetic mutations, the magnitude of the licensing agreements between biotech and pharmaceutical companies aimed to utilize newly discovered genetic mutations, and the number of stories in the media on genetic mutations and their so-called "link" to disease. However,  this huge effort and billions of dollars has produced few discoveries and little benefits to the public . The reason for this limited success is simple. The cause of cancer is not a genetic mutation. The story of the BRCA1 gene is a typical example of mutation hunting. The Mystery of BRCA1.Genes, in general, produce proteins, which are the building blocks of cells.

The concentration of the protein is tightly regulated. A mutated gene produces an abnormal concentration of its protein, which may lead to disease. In 1994, Mark Skolnick, PhD, discovered the BRCA1 gene (BRCA1 is short for BReast CAncer 1). Following the discovery, scientists observed an abnormally low level of the BRCA1 protein in breast cancer tissues. The BRCA1 protein is a cell cycle suppressor, which means that the protein prevents cell replication. This observation created a lot of excitement. At the time, scientists believed that they were on the verge of finding the cause of breast cancer. The reasoning was that breast cancer patients must have a mutated BRCA1 gene, which would explain the decreased production of the protein, and the excessive replication of breast cancer cells in tumors. In the United States, 180,000 cases of breast cancer are diagnosed each year. However, the BRCA1 gene is mutated in less than 5% of these cases. In more than 95% of breast cancer patients the gene is not mutated. So here is the mystery. If the gene is not mutated in the great majority of the breast cancer patients, why are the tumors showing low levels of the BRCA1 protein? Today, this is one of the biggest mysteries in cancer research.

Do You Supplement Your Diet With Fish oil? Cancer Sufferers Should Be, (And Everyone Else).

Have you started taking daily capsules of fish oil? Cancer sufferers, and for that matter all of us, should be taking daily supplements containing the essential fatty acids found in fish oil.

The average American diet is inadequate in the 2 important essential fatty acids known as DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). These are found in fish oil and studies have consistently shown for many years that those with an adequate intake of these 2 important Omega 3 essential fatty acids are generally more healthy than those who have low intakes.

There’s a wide range of benefits to taking fish oil supplements and these include reducing your risk of dying from heart attack as well as many other heart health benefits together with a range of improvements in many other areas of your health.

But there is now mounting evidence of a fish oil cancer reduction link. Studies are now showing by that increasing the amount of essential fatty acids in your diet can benefit a range of cancers such as breast cancer, colon cancer and prostate cancer as well as some other cancers. The benefits include both improving prevention and improving treatment outcomes.

Whilst it may be too early to say that it is fully proven that increasing your intake of fish oil can reduce your risk of cancer the evidence for this is now mounting. For instance studies have shown that increasing your intake fish oil can achieve a reduction in the risk of bowel cancer of up to 37 percent.

And there is also a fish oil breast cancer reduction link. As well as this there is also a link between fish oil and reducing the risk of prostate cancer.

Prostate cancer and breast cancer are some of the biggest killers in our society. Almost all of us should increase our levels of intake of essential Omega 3 fatty acids to help reduce our risk of contracting either of these cancers if the studies are correct.

It is now reasonably clear that everyone should be supplementing their diet with increased amounts of fish oil. Cancer sufferers may well benefit from this but there are other far-reaching benefits to just about everyone from doing this.

You can increase your intake of fish oil by eating more fish however there is now also evidence that many fish, and in particular top of the food chain fish, are contaminated with a range of chemicals and the FDA tells us to limit our intake of certain fish for this reason. But the good news is that it’s entirely possible to get clean Omega 3 fish oil supplements that do not contain industrial chemicals and which are safe for us to take every day.

As well as essential fatty acids found in fish there are also other natural substances that can also offer improved health outcomes. Studies are now showing that lycopene is another of these substances.

You find lycopene in tomatoes and the studies are showing a range of health benefits including a reduction in the risk of cancer.

As cutting edge research demonstrates the health benefits of natural substances such as Omega 3 fats and lycopene cutting edge health companies are producing excellent products which allow us to incorporate these types of natural substances in our diet. It is now possible to get omega 3 supplements contain lycopene as well as fish oil.

There are clear health benefits to all of us increasing our intake of omega 3 supplements containing fish oil. The possibility of cancer reduction is one of those benefits, but there are many others.

If you’d like to find out more about the health benefits of fish oil supplementation, or about where to find the new generation of omega 3 supplements containing lycopene then you can do so on my website.

Recognizing & Battling Breast Cancer

Breast cancer occurs due to the irrepressible growth of cells in the breast that invades the nearby tissues and spreads throughout the body. These collections of irrepressible growth of tissue are called tumors or malignant tumors. However, not all tumors are cancerous. Breast cancer has been diagnosed in large numbers in North America and Europe. In 2001, about 200,000 cases of breast cancer were diagnosed in the United States alone. Every woman has a 1 in 8 risk of developing breast cancer, but the risk of dying from breast cancer is much lower, barely 1 in 28.

The risk of getting breast cancer is generally higher among older women, women with a family history or previous history of breast cancer, women who had radiation therapy in the chest region, women who started their periods before 12 years old, women who had menopause after 50 years old, women who never had children or had them age 30 or older, or women with genetic mutation. In recent times genetic mutations for breast cancer have become a hot topic of research.

The breast cancer tumor has the following symptoms: lump or thickening that appears on the breast or underarm, changes in the breast's shape, nipple turned inwards followed by colorless discharge, red or scaled skin or nipple, or ridges on the breast skin. If a woman experiences any of these symptoms, it does not necessarily mean she has breast cancer. In such a case she should undergo a breast cancer personal check-up. It is estimated that 95% of breast cancer is detected through personal check-up. The breast cancer personal check-up includes checking for lumps in the breasts after each menstrual period, puckering the skin, and checking for nipple retraction or discharge. For consistent result, every woman should do a breast cancer personal check-up at the same time every month. Various other techniques such as mammography, thermography, ultrasonography, computerized tomography scan etc, can also help detect breast cancer.

Breast cancer treatments include surgery that removes cancerous tissues, with breast conservation therapy (BCT) being one such surgery. Other breast cancer treatments include chemotherapy, radiotherapy, hormonal therapy and biologic therapy. Radiotherapy is a common breast cancer treatment, and radiation treatment and chemotherapy may follow surgery to ensure the destruction of the stray cancer cells.

Can You Reduce Your Risk of Breast Cancer?

The more you understand about any subject, the more interesting it becomes. As you read this article you'll find that the subject of cancer is certainly no exception.

We hear it all the time?lose weight for your health. Few people however, realize the extent to which this is critical to their physical well-being and ultimately their life expectancy.

In January 2003, the Journal of the American Medical Association featured a study finding that obesity appears to lessen life expectancy, especially among young adults. The researchers compared Body-Mass Index (BMI) to longevity and found a correlation between premature death and higher BMIs.

For example, a 20-year-old white male, 5'10″ weighing 288 pounds with a BMI of greater than 40 was estimated to lose 13 years of his life as a result of obesity.Jamie McManus, M.D., F.A.A.F.P. and author of “Your Personal Guide to Wellness” notes that while this study referenced extreme levels of obesity, there are still millions of overweight people in developed countries with a life expectancy rate that is three to five years less than their healthy-weight counterparts. She also estimates that there are 600,000 obesity related deaths each year in America.

Just how does obesity shorten our lifespan? The answer to this question is complex, yet there is a clear link between obesity and the development of cancer. An extensive study conducted by the American Cancer Institute involving 750,000 people showed that obesity significantly increased the risk of cancer developing in the following organs: breast, colon, ovaries, uterus, pancreas, kidneys and gallbladder.

Michael Thun, MD, vice-president of epidemiology and surveillance research for the American Cancer Society (ACS) says one reason obesity may raise cancer risk is because fat cells produce a form of estrogen called estradiol that promotes rapid division of cells, increasing chances of a random genetic error while cells are replicating, which can lead to cancer. In addition, fat centered around the abdomen may increase insulin and insulin-like growth factors in the blood, which may increase cancer risk.

“Women who are obese after menopause have a 50% higher relative risk of breast cancer,” notes Thun, “and obese men have a 40% higher relative risk of colon cancer?. Gallbladder and endometrial cancer risks are five times higher for obese individuals”.There is evidence that cancer rates in developed countries are increasing at 5 to 15 times faster than developing countries. A major contributor to this alarming reality has proven to be diet.

Is Tamoxifen Effective In Curing Breast Cancer?

Tamoxifen, known in the trade as Nolvadex, is usually prescribed by specialists in breast cancer and is taken in pill form. A patient will stay on the drug for about five years. Often the woman's cancer will be tested to see if it is sensitive to the amount of oestrogen in the system. If the cancer is oestrogen sensitive, tamoxifen will be given. Because tamoxifen is such a weak estrogen, its estrogen signals don't stimulate very much cell growth. And because it has stolen the place away from more powerful estrogen, it blocks estrogen-stimulated cancer cell growth. In this way, tamoxifen acts like an “anti-estrogen.” Tamoxifen may also take the place of natural estrogen in the receptors of healthy breast cells. In that way it holds down growth activity, and possibly stops abnormal growth and the development of a totally new breast cancer. By blocking natural estrogen from getting to the receptors, tamoxifen is helpful in reducing the risk of breast cancer in women at high risk who have never had breast cancer.

It also can help women who have already had breast cancer in one breast by lowering the risk of a new breast cancer forming in the other breast. One study found that radiation plus tamoxifen was much better than tamoxifen alone at reducing the risk of breast cancer coming back after a lumpectomy in women with hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer. This was true even for women with very small cancers. For pre-menopausal women, tamoxifen is the best hormonal therapy. But tamoxifen is no longer the first choice for post-menopausal women. If you've been on tamoxifen for two to three years and now you're in menopause, your doctor may recommend that you switch to an aromatase inhibitor to finish your five years of hormonal therapy. However, you can still get a lot of benefit if you take tamoxifen for up to five years and then switch to an aromatase inhibitor. Tamoxifen was first used to fight breast cancer at the Christie Hospital in Manchester, England, in 1969. It has since proved its worth as means of stopping the spread or recurrence of the disease in women who have already been treated for it.

Reduce The Breast Cancer By 45%!

A US study of 13,000 patients showed Tamoxifen reduced the rate of expected cancers from one in 130 to one in 236 - a cut of about 45%. The American researchers ended their trial early when they said the drug's benefits became overwhelmingly obvious.Other studies found that tamoxifen AND chemotherapy improved survival improved survival rates by about 40?0% compared to taking one treatment or the other. Should women taking tamoxifen avoid pregnancy? Yes. Tamoxifen may make premenopausal women more fertile, but doctors advise women on tamoxifen to avoid pregnancy because animal studies have suggested that the use of tamoxifen in pregnancy can cause fetal harm. Women who have questions about fertility, birth control, or pregnancy should discuss their concerns with their doctor. Does tamoxifen cause a woman to begin menopause? Tamoxifen does not cause a woman to begin menopause, although it can cause some symptoms that are similar to those that may occur during menopause. In most premenopausal women taking tamoxifen, the ovaries continue to act normally and produce estrogen in the same or slightly increased amounts.

Do the benefits of tamoxifen in treating breast cancer outweigh its risks? The benefits of tamoxifen as a treatment for breast cancer are firmly established and far outweigh the potential risks. Patients who are concerned about the risks and benefits of tamoxifen or any other medications are encouraged to discuss these concerns with their doctor. Tamoxifen ( ta-MOX-i-fen) is a medicine that blocks the effects of the estrogen hormone in the body. It is used to treat breast cancer in women or men. It may also be used to treat other kinds of cancer, as determined by your doctor. Tamoxifen also may be used to reduce the risk of developing breast cancer in women who have a high risk of developing breast cancer. Women at high risk for developing breast cancer are at least 35 years of age and have a combination of risk factors that make their chance of developing breast cancer 1.67% or more over the next 5 years. Your doctor will help to determine your risk of developing breast cancer.
